SongShed
A term based, intermediate level, auditioned choir, based in Yackandandah
SongShed is an intermediate choir of mixed voices that meets (mostly) during school terms, and sings a wide range of materials. The repertoire includes songs from modern musicals, to upbeat pop, minimalist chant and country/folk through to choral-style ballads, mostly arranged or composed by the group’s leader, Leanne Murphy.
Leanne is an accomplished pianist and vocalist, and has an extensive background in community music making. Leanne runs regular community singing workshops and song sharing sessions, in addition to leading ukulele and recorder groups and workshops across the North East. You can find more info on Leanne here, including links to her published sheet music.
When the group is in session, it rehearses Tuesday evenings between 6.45 and 8.45pm, in the Yackandandah Courthouse. SongShed takes new members at the start of each term, and you can find out more information about the group, see videos of recent performances, and learn about the process for auditioning by clicking the button below.
